What is the Automatic Speech Translator?
The Automatic Speech Translator is a device that lets you communicate with Japanese people even if you can’t speak Japanese.
With it, interactions go smoothly, so you can enjoy your trip.
- Just speak into the device, and it automatically translates your speech into Japanese and speaks the result.
- And it works from Japanese as well.
- In addition to Japanese and English, it translates Korean and Mandarin Chinese.
- The Automatic Speech Translator will become available in some areas beginning December 14, 2009, gradually becoming available at all designated use areas by February 2010.

Conditions of Use
Please use after reading and consenting to the following conditions.
- When using the speech translation device, the user’s voice and translated results are automatically recorded.
- Each recording will undergo statistical processing and other data processing in a way in which the user and translated content (both original & translated texts) cannot be identified, and will be used in spoken language research and/or development.
(Neither voice nor translation data will be made public as it is.)
- We will accept no responsibility or liability for any loss or damages incurred through the use of the voice translation device.
